About Me

I am a student at Georgia State University where I study English and French. Concurrently, I am pursuing a career in publishing as an editor, and I use this website to display personal, professional, and academic writings. On this page I have written a little about myself; please read on if you are so interested.

I was born and raised in Wilmington, North Carolina. Wilmington is a lovely coastal city with a quaint downtown alongside a riverwalk. I grew up with the city, which has blossomed from a quiet beach town into a small metropolis of thriving businesses, college beachgoers, and golfcart retirement communities. The son of an architect, I saw firsthand the town’s development at the many constructions site visits of modern homes that my father designed. Viewing these homes today is like walking through a museum of personal memories.

I spent many formative years of adulthood in Raleigh, North Carolina and the surrounding research triangle area. While there, I explored a few different careers. Early on I had developed a passion for brewing, which led me to working at a craft brewery. With the arrival of Covid-19 and the ensuing quarantine, I trained and worked as a title insurance underwriter. I gained much professional experience, and I learned I possess an eye for detail in editing documents.

I spent much of the Covid years practicing my favorite hobby: running. I ran every day, sunshine or rain, sweltering summer heat or bitter winter breeze. I even ran my first (unofficial) marathon: 6 laps around Raleigh’s Lake Johnson. Aside from running, I discovered a latent love of reading and writing — and my true passion. I loved reading classic literature, especially the works of James Joyce and Marcel Proust. My reading of In Search of Lost Time even inspired me to learn French. I hope to attain an advanced level of competency in the language so that I can reread my favorite book in the original.

After my wife finished graduate school, the two of us decided to move to Atlanta in pursuit of work. It was here that I decided to earn a degree in English as to better understand the mechanics of language. During this time I have honed my skills of research and communication, and I have enjoyed exploring the merits of different writing mediums and formats. I write precisely while paying careful attention to the musicality and cadence of words, and I help others better communicate with humble encouragement.
